How to add data about your product/customize ProductPage

After you've installed ProductPage, you can start customizing it and adding data about your product.

The ProductPage Admin panel

ProductPage comes with an administration module, which allows you to configure it the way you want to.

You can find it in the OpenCart admin under Extensions>Modules. Choose Edit to change the settings.



Product data tab

On this tab you can enter basic data about your product. Let's go through each field:

  1. Product 
    (product specific setting)
    Here you can enter the name of an existing product, which will automatically complete the rest of the fields. If you don't have an existing product, enter any name and a new one will be created.
  2. Page headline
    (product specific setting)
    This is a summary of your message. What's the one thing that will make people want your product? Make it memorable. Or simply enter the product's name. 
  3. Button text 
    (setting affects all products)
    This is the text that is displayed on your "Buy Now" button. Keep in mind that the price is displayed just after this text. You can go with something like "Buy it Now for", for example. 
  4. Featured headline
    (setting affects all products)
    This option affects stores with more than one product. Since the Featured module is used to display the rest of the products, this setting gives you control over the headline that is displayed before the list of other products.
  5. Quantity field
    (setting affects all products)
    Tick this checkbox to allow customers to buy more than one of each product. (This isn't cart functionality. The customers will be taken to checkout after selecting the desired quantity.)
  6. Checkout
    (setting affects all products)
    Use these settings to simplify your checkout form. For example, if shipping is not required for the product you sell, you can turn off the billing address form, too.
  7. Short description
    (product specific setting)
    This is your hero text. Make it short and memorable. This is where you should place your unique selling proposition.
  8. Description
    (product specific setting)
    The contents of this box will go directly below first section. Use this to describe the benefits of your product, for example.
  9. Image
    (product specific setting)
    This is the main product image, which will appear at the top of the front page. This is the first thing that your visitors are going to see. Please, use a .png image to avoid the white background.
  10. Require shipping
    (setting affects all products)
    If your product doesn't require shipping, your customers won't be asked to enter a shipping address.

Content modules tab

*Please note: The content you add here will be displayed on the pages of all products, if you have more than one product.

You can use this tab to add more custom content. It can be displayed on several positions throughout the site. They are discussed below.

  1. This is what your active modules look like
  2. Click on this to add a new module
  3. This is the content of the module. It can be anything and it accepts HTML. If you click on Source you can enter HTML code directly. You can also use an external HTML editor and then paste your code here.
  4. Layout
    Each layout accounts for one of the pages of your website. You have 3 options here:
    [PS]Product—this allows you to place your custom content on the front/product page
    [PS]Checkout—choose this to place your content on the checkout page
    [PS]Success—choose this layout to place content on your success page(the one that your customers see after they have completed a payment)
  5. Position
    You have 2 options here:
    Content top—your content will be placed near the top of the page
    Content bottom—the content you've entered will be placed near the bottom of the page
  6. Sort order
    If you have several modules at [PS]Product>Content bottom, for example, you can specify the order in which they appear by assigning them numbers—1,2,3 and so on.

Testimonials tab

You can add testimonials from your customers on this tab. The testimonials are saved separately for each product.


  1. Here you can enter a custom heading for your testimonials section. You could call it "What our customers say", for example.

Experiment with modules and their positions until you get the desired result.
