Quick remedy using the OpenCart system error log

This is a description of the most common error messages found in the system error log, their causes and possible solutions.

You can find the log here:

Below is a list of the most common error messages you can stumble upon.

PHP Notices

  1. Lots of undefined variable messages about the _mobile.tpl files.

    Example message
PHP Notice: Undefined variable: company_id in /home/store_name/public_html/catalog/view/theme/omf/template/account/register_mobile.tpl

You might have the wrong version of OMF, or you have updated OpenCart  after installing OMF. If you are using OpenCart v1.5.1, please, download OMF v1.6.x.

  2. One or more repeating PHP notices following this pattern:
PHP Notice: Undefined index: index_name in store_root/vqmod/vqcache/vq2-xxx.php on line.

    Example message
PHP Notice: Undefined index: decimal_place in z/home2/store_name/public_html/store/vqmod/vqcache/vq2-catalog_controller_product_product.php on line 231
Notice that the problem occurs in the vqcache directory. This is not necessarily connected to OMF, but it could be a source for problems. This error means that there is a conflicting extension running on top of vQmod. To troubleshoot this disable all vQmod based extensions, except for OMF, and see if you still experience this problem. Enabling them one by one will help you find out which extension is causing this issue.

PHP Warnings

  1. PHP Warning of type Permission denied.

    Example message
PHP Warning: fopen(../catalog/view/theme/omf/stylesheet/settings.scss): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/store_name/public_html/store/admin/controller/module/omfa.php on line

If you're getting such warnings it's probably a rights issue. Please, check that you have set the correct rights (should be 755) for your OMF stylesheet directory and all files that it contains:
